The Role
RE-volv is hiring a driven Solar Account Manager with 3-5 years of commercial/nonprofit solar sales experience and a deep commitment to climate justice. The Solar Account Manager will lead RE-volv’s nonprofit solar sales and financing process from lead generation and technical evaluation to proposal development and contract execution. A core part of the role is ensuring the nonprofit leads understand the financing proposals (loan, lease or PPA options) and realistic utility bill savings. Additionally the Solar Account Manager will partner with trusted installers to ensure the best proposal and realistic timelines are aligned with the customer upfront.
We are looking for a sales leader who can manage the proposal and financial details required to ensure accuracy while also having the communication skills needed to educate the nonprofits on their solar journey. This team member will lead the sales process and coordination between the other Solar and Finance team members at RE-volv. This person is responsible for prioritizing leads and keeping everyone on the same page to ensure the processes and approvals to move the deals forward are happening efficiently. There is high growth potential for this role as RE-volv continues to scale.

RE-volv is a leading clean energy access nonprofit that develops and finances solar plus storage projects for community-based nonprofit organizations across the country. To date, RE-volv has financed over $20 million of nonprofit solar projects across 20 states, helping our clients save over $40 million on their electricity bills. RE-volv is an emerging CDFI focused on deploying capital for clean energy projects in CDFI investment areas. RE-volv has multiple private and public capital sources and is continuing to grow its investor base to bring solar to more nonprofits. As experts in the Inflation Reduction Act’s Solar ITC Direct Pay provision, we specialize in helping tax-exempt organizations monetize federal incentives to maximize their savings.
Position Details
This is a full-time position, and can be fully remote, or hybrid from our San Francisco office, for applicants in the Bay Area. Compensation includes an annual salary commensurate with experience, benefits, and generous paid time off. RE-volv provides the last Friday of every month off for personal care, which we call RE-charge Days. Position starts as soon as possible.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Relationship Management: Develop and manage a robust pipeline of nonprofit leads, conducting discovery calls and technical proposal walkthroughs with a focus on securing deal closure, creating referral-worthy customer outcomes and long-term partnerships.
EPC Proposal Analysis: Review and vet third-party EPC proposals to ensure they align with RE-volv’s technical standards and that project costs and production estimates are accurate. Align on project timelines upfront to ensure all parties are aligned on a successful construction process.
Technical Education: Guide nonprofit staff and boards through the technical and financial nuances of solar and storage, ensuring they are fully educated on how their savings will be realized and what is needed from them through the process.
Underwriting & Credit Memo Support: Ensure proper information is received from the nonprofit for the underwriting team to perform reviews. In consultation with other team members, prepare a credit memo and secure the appropriate level of approvals from internal staff and the investment committee.
Process Oversight & Closing: Coordinate with the Solar team to ensure all steps of the lending process are properly completed and all documents are compiled for closing. Coordinate with legal counsel and nonprofits to prepare and review financing and EPC agreements and obtain all necessary signatures.
Partnerships: Be the face of RE-volv for industry events and webinars to grow RE-volv’s partnerships, lead gen and funding sources.
Product Development: Support RE-volv in periodically updating its solar financing products based on latest market conditions and the needs of our clients.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: 3-5+ years of solar sales experience.
Software Experience: Energy Tool Base, PVWatts, Salesforce, bill.com, Excel and Google Sheets proficiency are key for this role.
Organization, Communication & Prioritization: From file & email management across multiple leads and juggling ad hoc requests, strong organization and prioritization is required along with clear communication to all stakeholders and the ability to translate complex financial concepts for various audiences.
Compliance & Risk Management Mindset: A focus on adherence to the loan policy, disclosure requirements and covenant requirements while exercising sound judgment to safeguard the portfolio and support customer success.
Efficiency with Attention to Detail: Leverage software and critical thinking to complete tasks quickly and accurately.
Mission Alignment: Demonstrated commitment to promoting renewable energy, climate justice, and building an equitable and sustainable society through broader access to capital.
Process Development & Implementation: Skilled at developing and implementing improvements to an organization’s sales, financial & lending policies, systems and procedures that can scale.
